A) When buying a home in B.C. there is Property Purchase Tax based on: of 1% on the first $200,000 and 2% on the balance of the purchase price, check with Agent regarding new / changes to higher end taxes.

B) GST. is applicable on all new construction and newly created lots, this is a 5% tax based on the purchase price.

C) When selling a non-principal residence keep in mind that you may incur a Capital Gain or a Capital Loss. If you are unsure please check with your accountant for clarification.

D) There may be some first time homeowners tax breaks available –check latest qualifications.
